About Us
Sage Scribe started as a result of the constant onslaught of unequitable circumstances upon Australians, particularly those who are vulnerable, who have no power or capacity to influence the economic envronment in which they live.
It is a legitimate site, not-crack pot material.
All information and campaigns are wholy evidence-based and extensively researched from quality sources - no individual opinions are utilised as sources or influence the content.
Sage Scribe has no affliation to any political parties and is not aligned politically. The organisation cam be boroadly described as centre-left (with a focus on centre with left being the passion for social justice in a balanced and sustainable way.)
Sage Scribe is about people, not politics.
Advocacy Projects
Prevention of prescribing sodium valproate is a key project; it is a drug that is essentially banned in mutiple comparative countries such as Britain and Canada. It causes severe birth defects and is considered to be as bad or worse than thalildomide. It is not being adequately regulated. Further the PBS price of a safe alternative is being denied a key group of vulnerable people. They are left with no choice but to take the dangerous drug for a chronic life-threatening disease or be unmedicated due to pharmaceutical poverty.
Observation Project - Apple iPhones
Australian trade and competition laws are failing to keep up with the behaviour of companies who exploit gaps and technicalities. Apple is one company that flies exceptionally close to the line and are getting away with behaviour that is essentially unconscionable. The project is a passive one, just providing information to consumers and others who are interested on the pricing over time for Apple iPhones which are in reality, but not under law, price controlled to the detriment of competition and the Australian public. This was started when this kind of information was search for but remarkably does not exist.
Occasionally as appropriate, information is provided to the ACCC to demonstrate the need for their advocacy for change and an increase in their powers; currently they are a poodle parading as a guard dog.
